What you will receive

You will receive a young white mystery snail of about 1–2 cm, bred and raised by us in England. Colour varies naturally from one snail to the next, so yours may not look exactly like another.

White or ivory mystery snail?

You may see pale snails sold as ivory mystery snails in UK shops. Names for shell colours are not standardised, so compare the photos rather than the name when you are choosing.

How many mystery snails do you need?

One white mystery snail on its own is fine, and it is the simple way to avoid eggs because breeding needs a male and a female. If you would like a group, you can mix colours freely, because purple, white and blue snails all need the same care.

Keep the water harder, with a pH of 7.2 or higher and a temperature of about 21–26°C, and use a tight lid. Our mystery snail care guide covers tank size, food, plants and eggs.
