What you will receive

You will receive a young blue mystery snail of about 1–2 cm, bred and raised by us in England. Colour varies naturally from one snail to the next, so yours may not look exactly like another.

Will a blue mystery snail suit a planted tank?

Usually, yes. Mystery snails prefer dead and rotting plants and prepared foods, and they tend to leave healthy plants alone unless no other food is available. Duckweed is a known exception. Keep your snail well fed, and read what we say about plants in our care guide.

Do blue mystery snails need anything special?

No. Blue snails need the same care as every other colour: harder water with a pH of 7.2 or higher, a temperature of about 21–26°C, and a tight lid so that they cannot climb out.

How big do blue mystery snails get?

An adult shell is typically about 40–50 mm wide and 45–65 mm high, so your 1–2 cm snail has plenty of growing to do. Our mystery snail care guide covers tank size, food and eggs.
